Interdisciplinary artist, Kevin Valentine in conjunction with Core Project performed the first group action of Widows: Lines in the Sand, on Saturday Nov 7th, 2009. Jabur Alturfee, Iraqi refugee and human rights worker was in attendance as well! The group uses domestic gestures (sweeping, weaving, digging...) to draw lines in the sand in order to raise awareness for widows in Iraq.
